Who is this for?
Any young man in the Oakland Stake that meets the following requirements is eligible for Base Camp:

Entering the 6th grade by the end of the year and is 11 or older.

Committed to participating in the Preparation Activities.

Willing to follow the Camp Policies.

Pay the $250 registration fee.

Please contact us if you are an adult and are interested in participating in a leadership capacity.
How much does it cost?
The registration fee is $250 per boy. This fee will cover the cost of travel, food, etc.

The cost to attend is $250 per person, which will need to be covered by families and wards. Please reach out to your ward leadership for guidance on the best way to arrange payment.

Base Camp is also offering scholarships for boys that need help covering the cost. Please contact us if you are interested in a scholarship or have any questions regarding the registration fee.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes, your friends are welcome to join if they meet the eligibility requirements listed above in the "Who is this for?" section.
How will trips be organized?
The boys will be organized into groups with about 6 - 10 other boys. The groups will mostly be determined based on age but there are a number of other factors, such as hiking experience, that we will also take into consideration. Each group will be lead by 2 - 3 adult leaders. If you have group request or would like to be an adult leader please contact us.

Can I pick the trip I want to go on?
Not really, but maybe. Each boy will be assigned a group which will determine which trip you go on. The groups and trips are organized by age and experience. Some of the trips are easy and some are very challenging. If you would like to request a specific trip please contact us.
Do I need my own gear?
Each boy will be responsible for packing and carrying their own gear, please refer to our recommended gear list.

The boys are not required to own the gear but they are responsible for gathering and borrowing what they need. The Stake has access to lots of gear and resources, please contact us if we can help.
